ROLE SUMMARY
The Director, AI Council Operations Lead reports directly to the AI Strategy & Realization Lead within PGS Data, Analytics & AI Transformation. This role is accountable for the operational backbone of the PGS AI Council, working across individual council leaders and pillar owners to help define, not own, their AI strategies, and holding them accountable for delivering measurable business value.
The role owns end-to-end Council operations, including monthly Council meetings, individual check-ins with Council members, agenda and materials development, decision tracking, and follow-up on action items. It drives the identification and prioritization of Council use cases and partners across PGS and Digital to advance them, connecting pillar leads to the right enabling resources(i.e. citizen development, Digital, 8 platforms, AI fluency programs, and engineering capacity).
The leader champions governance and adoption best practices into day-to-day council activity. By keeping the Council rigorously organized, well-informed, and accountable for value realization, this role enables PGS to move forward AI initiatives to trusted business impact and value realization.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and facilitate all AI Council operations, including planning and running monthly Council meetings, building agendas, coordinating presenters, capturing decisions, and driving follow-through on action items, as well as recurring individual meetings with each Council member.
- Partner with senior PGS leaders and Council members to help identify, sharpen, and evolve their AI strategies, ensuring alignment with enterprise AI priorities and the broader federated digital model.
- Help define and prioritize Council use cases, and connect them across PGS and Digital teams to advance them, removing barriers along the way.
- Partner to drive AI fluency and responsible AI adoption across the Council, embedding governance principles, risk awareness, and practical AI literacy into Council culture and decision-making.
- Drive connections between Council members and the resources needed to execute — citizen development, Digital 8 platforms, AI fluency programs, and engineering/product teams, acting as the connective tissue across the AI Strategy & Realization organization.
- Drive and hold Council members accountable for value realization, establishing clear success metrics, tracking benefit delivery against the AI roadmap, and escalating risks or stalled initiatives to leadership.
- Maintain the AI Council roadmap and reporting cadence, synthesizing pillar-level progress into concise, leadership-ready updates and dashboards.
- Build and continuously improve the operating rhythm, templates, and governance artifacts that make the Council efficient, transparent, and easy to engage with for new and existing members.

- Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with at least 8 years of relevant experience; OR a master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR a PhD with at least 5 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading governance councils, steering committees, or cross-functional leadership forums, including agenda-setting, facilitation, and decision/action tracking.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders to shape and refine strategy, translating broad direction into concrete, actionable plans.
- Working knowledge of AI/analytics concepts, use case development, and responsible AI principles, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical business audiences.
- Experience connecting stakeholders to enabling capabilities (e.g., citizen development, digital platforms, training/fluency programs) across a large, matrixed organization.
- Track record of driving accountability for outcomes without direct authority, including defining success metrics and reporting on value realization.
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to operate confidently with senior executives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong Pfizer colleague network, particularly across PGS, Digital, Finance, and/or Regulatory, with a track record of forming partnerships to accomplish common goals in highly complex areas.
