Overview

Microsoft’s Monetization Strategy and Licensing (MSL) organization defines the monetization, channel, and licensing strategies for our commercial product portfolio. Few organizations have such a direct impact on how Microsoft goes to market or exert as much influence on commercial practices across the industry. Within MSL, the Go-to-Market team drives growth and strengthens the customer and partner experience by defining how and where customers buy.

We are looking for a Director, Business Planning, to lead Microsoft’s consumption strategy across Cloud + AI. You will define how Microsoft enables and monetizes consumption across Cloud + AI. You will establish the long-term strategy and lead a portfolio of initiatives from early strategy and executive alignment through implementation, adoption, and measurement.

What you can expect:

You will join a collaborative team working on high-visibility commercial strategy opportunities with direct relevance to Microsoft’s enterprise revenue growth and customer experience. You will have opportunities to develop expertise across Azure and AI monetization, licensing, and commerce while building relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and gaining new experiences. You can expect to have sponsorship for your work, continued support for your professional development, and encouragement to bring your authentic self to work.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

  • Influence senior leaders and drive cross-functional decisions by clearly articulating the strategic rationale, customer and business impact, financial implications, dependencies, trade-offs, risks, and recommended path forward.
  • Establish measurable business outcomes and learning mechanisms for launched initiatives, using performance and adoption insights to refine strategy and inform future investments.
  • Translate approved strategies into business outcomes, partnering with change management and operational teams to ensure progress, resolve barriers, and deliver the intended business outcomes
