About the Role

Lead and scale multiple product engineering squads at a mission-driven education technology company building tools that help schools create schedules for teachers and students. You will own product engineering delivery and technical direction, partnering with cross-functional teams to support the company's next phase of growth.

What You'll Do

  • Manage multiple product squads and drive delivery across scheduling, reporting and visibility, and elementary school products.

  • Contribute code, review work, and pair with engineers while maintaining a balance of hands-on technical work and leadership.

  • Make and implement architecture decisions that strengthen platform reliability and scalability.

  • Partner with product and customer-facing teams to set squad goals and align engineering priorities with business outcomes.

  • Deliver product improvements ahead of the annual school scheduling season, including AI-powered capabilities.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 3 years of engineering management experience, including managing multiple teams and supporting team growth; experience managing managers is valuable.

  • Experience owning product or business outcomes such as delivery speed, quality, growth, retention, or margins.

  • Strong backend architecture and design experience, including the ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, and a willingness to remain hands-on.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript or Python, with experience using AWS and MongoDB; the broader stack includes React.

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment, with the ability to prioritize independently and work through ambiguity.

  • Background in education technology or related learning and teaching fields, and an ability to learn and apply AI.

  • Strong communication skills and experience connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.

  • Ability to travel for company retreats and occasional business trips.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $210,000 to $240,000 per year. Visa sponsorship is available.
