About the Role
Lead and scale multiple product engineering squads at a mission-driven K-12 education technology company. You will own product engineering delivery and technical direction, partnering across the organization to support the development of tools for school scheduling.
What You'll Do
Lead multiple product squads, supporting engineers and driving delivery across scheduling, reporting, and elementary school experiences.
Contribute code, review work, and pair with engineers, initially balancing hands-on engineering with leadership and gradually shifting toward a greater leadership focus.
Make and guide architectural decisions that support a robust, scalable platform.
Partner with product and other cross-functional teams to set squad goals and connect engineering priorities to business outcomes.
Deliver high-value product capabilities, including AI-powered features.
What We're Looking For
At least 3 years of engineering management experience, including managing and scaling multiple teams and experience managing other managers.
Experience owning product or business outcomes and translating technical decisions into results.
Strong backend architecture and design skills, with the ability to assess trade-offs and remain hands-on.
Proficiency with TypeScript or Python and experience with AWS and MongoDB; familiarity with React is useful.
Experience in K-12 education technology or related learning and teaching fields, plus interest in applying AI.
Comfort working in a fast-growing environment, prioritizing independently, and aligning cross-functional partners.
Ability to travel for occasional company retreats and business trips.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $210,000 to $240,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
Remote within the United States.
