Director of Nursing – Women’s Services
Location: Framingham, MA
Job Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Director of Nursing – Women’s Services provides leadership and operational support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in overseeing nursing practice and designated patient care services across multiple units within the hospital.
This role is responsible for assisting with the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices to ensure high-quality, safe, and effective patient care. The Director supports clinical staff competency, appropriate resource utilization, and compliance with professional standards. This position carries 24/7 accountability for assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and operational support to the CNO in overseeing nursing and designated patient care services.
- Lead and support nursing practice across multiple units, promoting consistent clinical standards and best practices.
- Assist in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care delivery and operational initiatives.
- Promote high-quality, safe, and appropriate patient care in accordance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Support clinical staff competency, professional development, and accountability.
- Ensure appropriate staffing and resource management to support patient care needs and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership, and sound hospital operational judgment.
- Serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession, fostering collaboration and a culture of excellence.
- Maintain 24/7 accountability for assigned service areas.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Associate degree from an accredited nursing school with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience:
- Minimum of two years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a manager, full-time charge nurse, or in a related leadership role.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Current professional licensure, certification, or registration as required by applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Current CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a master's degree in a healthcare-related field.
