Total Earning Potential: Up to $350,000

FULL RELOCATION PACKAGE PROVIDED – NATIONWIDE CANDIDATES ENCOURAGED TO APPLY

We have partnered with a leading nationwide general contractor to recruit TWO Directors of Operations, one based in San Antonio and another in Austin, Texas.

Not currently living in Texas? Your relocation will be covered.

Our client is actively seeking experienced construction leaders from Texas and across the United States and is prepared to provide a fully funded relocation package for successful candidates moving to either San Antonio or Austin.

These are permanent leadership opportunities offering significant operational responsibility, genuine decision-making authority and a clear pathway towards a Vice President position within the next 2–5 years.

The Opportunity

As Director of Operations, you will take responsibility for a substantial regional construction operation, overseeing multiple large-scale projects, leading experienced management teams and driving overall business performance.

You will have the autonomy to lead your operation, with responsibility for financial performance, project execution, team development and long-term operational success.

This is an opportunity to join an established general contractor with a strong presence in Texas, a diverse portfolio of projects and ambitious plans for continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of large-scale construction projects.
  • Take full responsibility for regional P&L, profitability and operational performance.
  • Lead, mentor and develop Project Executives, Project Managers, Superintendents and other operational leaders.
  • Oversee project delivery, financial performance, scheduling, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Strengthen existing teams while identifying and developing future leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and key industry stakeholders.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to support regional growth and long-term business objectives.
  • Maintain a strong local presence and represent the business throughout the Central Texas construction market.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced Project Executives and Directors of Operations from established general contractors.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of approximately 5 years of experience at Project Executive level or above.
  • Experience overseeing multiple construction projects valued at $50M - $100M+.
  • A strong background in large-scale commercial general contracting across multiple project sectors.
  • Proven experience managing senior operational teams and multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, profitability and P&L management.
  • A stable and progressive career history with reputable general contractors.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and client relationship management skills.
  • The ambition and capability to progress into a Vice President position.

Candidates currently operating as a Director of Operations or Vice President within a smaller general contractor will also be considered, provided they have the relevant project experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $220,000–$280,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Typically 20%.
  • Total Earning Potential: Up to approximately $350,000.
  • Vehicle Package: Company vehicle or $1,200 monthly vehicle allowance.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO).
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance.
  • Fully Funded Relocation Package for candidates moving from elsewhere in the United States.
  • Executive Career Progression: Potential pathway to Vice President within approximately 2–5 years.

Relocating to Texas? They'll Cover Your Relocation.

These are two permanent leadership opportunities based in San Antonio and Austin, and our client is actively encouraging applications from experienced construction professionals nationwide.

You do not need to be currently living in Texas to be considered.

For the right candidate, the company will cover relocation costs to help facilitate your move, allowing you to focus on establishing yourself in your new position.

Both opportunities require a long-term/permanent commitment to living and working in Central Texas, rather than a temporary travelling or commuting arrangement.

Apply Confidentially

If you're an experienced Project Executive ready to step into a Director of Operations position, or an established Director seeking a substantial leadership opportunity with a clear path to VP, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.

Apply today to discuss the San Antonio or Austin opportunity.

All applications and conversations will be treated in strict confidence.
