Position Overview
The Director of Procedural and Surgical Services provides 24-hour leadership and operational oversight for the OR, Pre-Op, PACU, Cath Lab, and EP Lab, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centered care.
This role is responsible for clinical excellence, employee engagement, physician collaboration, financial stewardship, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth. Working closely with executive leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, the Director promotes a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing perioperative leadership team and clinical staff.
- Provide oversight of daily operations across Surgical and Procedural Services.
- Ensure compliance with quality, patient safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Partner with surgeons, anesthesia providers, physicians, and hospital leadership to optimize surgical services and enhance the physician experience.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, productivity, budgeting, and resource utilization.
- Monitor quality and operational metrics and implement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and department performance.
- Promote employee engagement, professional development, succession planning, and talent retention.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives supporting the growth and future direction of Procedural and Surgical Services.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or eligibility for Arizona licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Progressive nursing leadership experience within perioperative/surgical services.
- Demonstrated experience managing clinical operations, quality improvement, staffing, and financial performance.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary surgical teams in an acute care hospital.
- Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- CNOR or another relevant specialty certification.
- Experience overseeing multiple procedural areas, such as OR, Pre-Op, PACU, Cath Lab, and EP Lab.
- Proven experience partnering with physicians and executive leadership on operational and strategic initiatives.
Compensation: $97,000.00 - $138,000.00 per year
