Director, Valuation Advisory (Canberra and Wollongong)

The opportunity

Our client, a leading global real estate advisory firm, is building a Valuation Advisory presence across Canberra, Wollongong and surrounding regional markets. This is a blank canvas role: there is no existing local team, so the successful candidate will set up and lead the practice from the ground up, backed by the depth of the firm's Sydney head office team.

The position suits a senior generalist valuer who wants to build and own a market, with the backing of a global platform and a senior national team behind them.

The role

• Deliver valuations across office, industrial, land development and metropolitan commercial assets
• Build and lead the Canberra practice from the firm's city office
• Cover Wollongong and regional markets, including Goulburn and the Southern Highlands corridor to Sydney
• Develop and grow relationships with lenders, institutional owners, funds, developers and government clients
• Work closely with, and be supported by, senior valuers in Sydney on larger and more complex instructions
• Win new work and grow the region's fee base over time

About you

• Senior valuer operating at Director level, or ready to step up
• A strong generalist background across multiple asset classes
• Certified Practising Valuer (API) and NSW registration, or eligibility
• Overseas-qualified valuers (for example RICS) who can obtain API certification and NSW registration are encouraged to apply
• Knowledge of the Canberra market, with regional NSW exposure highly regarded
• Self-starter who is comfortable building a business rather than stepping into an established team
• Commercially minded, with the client presence to win and keep instructions
