Work on Some of the Hardest RF Problems in the World We’re looking for a DSP Communications Engineer who thrives on solving complex wireless signal challenges. In this role, you’ll design and build systems that collect, analyze, and exploit RF signals in real time—supporting mission-critical intelligence and defense applications. You’ll work with a team of highly capable engineers developing cutting-edge signal processing algorithms, real-time SDR systems, and advanced protocol analysis tools. What You’ll Do Signal Processing & Communications Engineering Develop DSP solutions for RF signal collection, processing, and exploitation Apply digital communications techniques including detection, estimation, and demodulation Design algorithms for signal analysis, classification, and protocol exploitation Work with complex RF environments and wireless protocols Algorithm Development Implement advanced signal processing algorithms in C/C++ and Python Develop multi-threaded DSP software on Linux Build proofs-of-concept, prototypes, and operational systems Develop modeling tools and simulation frameworks Software-Defined Radio Systems Work with real-time SDR and protocol processing systems Integrate DSP algorithms with RF hardware and processing pipelines Develop high-performance signal processing applications Engineering Collaboration Work with distributed engineering teams Contribute to code repositories and version control workflows Communicate technical concepts through documentation and briefings Required Qualifications ✔ Active TS/SCI clearance (required) ✔ U.S. Citizenship ✔ Strong foundation in digital communications theory ✔ Experience developing systems for RF signal processing and exploitation ✔ Programming expertise in C/C++ and Python ✔ Experience working in Defense or Intelligence Community environments ✔ Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field Nice to Have Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) Familiarity with XMIDAS Knowledge of geolocation or direction-finding techniques Experience with wireless air interface protocols Multi-threaded DSP development in Linux environments Experience working in complex RF environments Why Engineers Like This Role Work on cutting-edge RF and DSP technologies Solve deep technical problems with real-world impact Opportunity to move from research → prototype → operational systems Collaborate with high-level engineering teams in defense technology Direct involvement in mission-critical communications systems Location Tucson, Arizona (On-Site) Relocation assistance may be available.
