Early Help Coordinator | 11225 | Permanent Contract | 37 hours per week | £38,510 to £40,444 per annum | Grade I | Kings Lynn & West Norfolk

Are you ambitious about early help and prevention?

Do you have experience of supporting families to access pathways to support?

Are you a good collaborator and able to encourage others to work together?

Can you organise a demanding workload to thrive in a busy work environment?

Building on Norfolk County Council's highly successful Ofsted inspection and the launch of our School and Community teams & Family Hubs approach, you have an opportunity to join our Communities and Partnerships Team in West Norfolk.

We want children, young people, and their families in Norfolk to receive support at the earliest opportunity so that they can FLOURISH. By acting together, as a prevention and early help system, we can enable more families to receive the right support, at the right time. This new model will mean we can build on the fantastic work already taking place, building skills and capacity to ensure we support children, young people, and families at the earliest opportunity. Family Hubs will work predominantly with those families that require early help. The teams’ working practices will be rotted in our core ways of working under the FLOURISH framework and pillars of practice ensure children-centred, relationship-based, and outcome-focussed care. These pillars prioritise family networks, early help, and stable, loving environments, guided by the principle that children should be healthy, safe and heard.

About the role:
You will join the team at our public facing Family Hub in Kings Lynn.

You will be required to:

  • Work alongside the Team Manager to review information and make decisions around risk and safety that lead to supportive responses to children and families, and co-ordinate EH Adviser workload. Exploring where Social Care or Universal Services can play a role in supporting a family or team around that family through an Early Help Assessment and Plan (EHAP) and Family Networking Approach.
  • Support partners from a range of organisations across Family Hubs, including education and health providers, district councils and voluntary sector groups to coordinate seamless support pathways for children, young people and families and role model good practice.
  • Ensure connection between services in ways that make sense for children and families, joining up pathways so that they only need to tell their story once and their service experience is smoother and more aligned.

Day to day you will be triaging cases, conducting cases discussions, allocating work, making calls to families and partner agencies and modelling good practice to the Early Help Advisers.

It is essential that you have a high level of competency and confidence using case load management systems and managing work using Outlook and Excel spreadsheets.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.

For further information about the role, please contact Nikki King, Team Manager on 01603 222533.
