Role Overview As a Registered Nurse in the Trauma Center, Emergency Department , you will be responsible for providing high-quality, efficient care to patients of all ages and acuities. Your duties will include: Emergency Care : Provide fast, compassionate care to patients presenting with a wide variety of illnesses, injuries, and trauma in a high-acuity, high-volume environment. Prioritization : Respond to emergency situations quickly and effectively, ensuring patient safety and timely interventions. Collaboration : Work with a multi-disciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to provide the best possible outcomes for trauma patients. Patient Interaction : Provide clear communication to patients and families, ensuring they understand their care plan and expected outcomes. Documentation & Compliance : Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to all safety protocols, including those defined by the Texas Nurse Practice Act . Adaptability : Handle the unpredictable pace and intensity of the Emergency Department with calm and urgency. Required Qualifications Education : Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD, or BSN). Licenses/Certifications : Registered Nurse (RN) CPR-BLS ACLS (required before completion of orientation) TNCC (within 18 months of hire) ENPC and/or PALS (before completion of orientation) NIHSS (required before completion of orientation) Experience : Open to new graduates and experienced nurses in emergency, trauma, or critical care settings. Skills : Self-Initiative : Ability to contribute actively to emergency department flow and throughput. Sense of Urgency : Respond to high-pressure situations swiftly and effectively. Adaptability : Be able to adjust care delivery in response to rapidly changing patient needs. Professionalism : Maintain a professional appearance and uphold hospital decorum at all times.
