Position Summary Perform under direct supervision and according to established guidelines and procedures, routine and complex procedures to obtain data for use in the clinical diagnosis of disorders of the nervous system in at least one of the following modalities of Neurodiagnostics: Electroencephalogarphy (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Epilepsy Monitoring and Polysomnograhy (PSG), or Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). Perform duties in various diagnostic and research areas as assigned.  Position Responsibilities Schedule patients for neurodiagnostic procedures and obtain required medical information; explain procedures, alleviate fears, and elicit cooperation. Prepare patient for tests to include measuring and marking cranial area and fastening electrodes to specified positions on scalp and body. Document pertinent medical history from the patient or family members. Operate computer equipment to record nervous system responses that provide quantitative and objective measures of the neuronal/sensory function. Perform procedures with appropriate documentation. Identify EEG waveforms/patterns during testing and communicate to medical personnel. Recognize changes in the clinical condition of the patient and correlate those changes with the EEG. Discriminate the changes requiring intervention such as seizures or cardiac arrhythmia. Clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance and repair on neurodiagnostic equipment to ensure proper functioning. Troubleshoot routine equipment problems. Collaborate with supervisor and medical personnel to resolve problems and to advise concerning laboratory procedures, techniques and equipment. React in medical emergencies to ensure patient safety; know unit and hospital procedures for working with high acuity patients. *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. *Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Knowledge requirements HS diploma and 6 months of patient care OR an Assoc or Bachelor degree. *Company Employees Only: This position includes a Neuro Training Agreement, which comes with a 3-year commitment to the company. Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Salary $21-$34/hr (Depending on experience) $6,000 Sign-on bonus!
