We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Specialist who can define the electrical architecture behind our advanced mining equipment and subsea vehicles.
If you thrive on conceptual thinking, system integration, and multidisciplinary design, rather than cable routing or detailed schematics, this is the role where your expertise truly matters.
What you'll do:
Taking ownership of the conceptual and basic electrical design is a central part of this role. This includes developing the overall power and control philosophies, creating high‑level system architectures, and determining how electrical, electronic, and automation systems fit together into a reliable and efficient whole. You will work on load analyses, system behavior, power system studies, and functional architectures that form the foundation for the detailed engineering phase. From robust sensor networks to fully integrated monitoring and automation platforms, you will shape the electrical systems that enable safe, efficient, and sustainable mining operations worldwide.
Requirements:
Define electrical power and control philosophies at system level
Develop conceptual and basic designs (power distribution, safety philosophy, system architecture)
Perform load calculations, high‑level cable sizing, and power system analyses
Prepare functional specifications, block diagrams, single-line diagrams, and interface documents
Integrate electrical systems with mechanical, hydraulic, and automation disciplines
Support and attend FAT/SAT and ensure system validation
Provide technical leadership while assigning and coordinating work packages with colleagues in, Brazil, South Africa, and Australia, monitoring progress and taking action whenever required to ensure timely and high‑quality delivery
Contribute to innovation in electrical and automation technologies for mining system
What we’re looking for:
Higher professional education in Electrical Engineering with experience in concept and basic design
We are looking for a professional with proven experience in similar or related roles; this position is not suited for junior or entry‑level applicants
Experienced candidates with experience in the oil & gas downstream sector or petrochemicals are encouraged to apply
Skilled in system integration, power distribution concepts, and functional architecture
Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams with global stakeholders and colleagues
Someone independent, analytical, and able to lead technically
Experience in mining, offshore, maritime, or heavy equipment is a plus
Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is considered an advantage
Based in The Netherlands or holding a valid EU work permit
