Job Summary:
The staff Endocrinologist is a board-certified physician who will conduct consultation and co-management of patients with the primary care provider. This role includes providing direct patient care within their board-certified specialty, adhering to best practices and evidence-based guidelines. Additionally, the endocrinologist will collaborate with support staff, including medical assistants, registered nurses, and clinic operations management, to ensure efficient team-based care.
Qualifications:

M.D., D.O., or M.B.B.S. degree from a recognized, accredited university is required.

Minimum three (3) years of working in an outpatient primary care or subspecialty setting.

Current valid California medical license in good standing and current DEA license.

Completion of an accredited residency program in internal medicine.

Completion of an accredited fellowship in endocrinology.

Board certification through the ABIM or board eligibility with a set date to take board exam is required.

Ability to keep accurate, clear and legible records. Ability to work with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish, or proficiency in other languages, is highly desirable.

Excellent writing, business communication, editing, and proofreading skills.

Ability to interact effectively and in a supportive manner with persons of all backgrounds.

Must be available to work a part-time schedule of 4-8 hours per week (0.1-0.2 FTE), with flexibility to work additional hours based on clinic needs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
-
Provide direct medical ambulatory services in the specialty of endocrinology to patients within scope to include examination, diagnosis, treatment, referral, and follow-up of patients in primary care setting.

Provide once a year in-service to adult primary care providers about management of common endocrinologic conditions.

Educate patients regarding their diagnoses, treatment, and prognosis.

Provide all services in accordance with accepted medical standards, organizational policies, contractual requirements, and in a manner that is responsive to the needs of all patients.

Maintain complete, accurate, and legible medical records according to established protocols, completing documentation with Axis policy timelines.

Participate in peer review and meetings as assigned.
-
Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
-
Complete all credentialing & privileging, and health plan enrollment requirements and respond to inquiries within an acceptable timeframe.

Maintain licenses and board certification, completing all required continuing education in a timely manner to ensure no lapse in licensure.

Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and training events as assigned.

May be required to perform other related duties, responsibilities, and special projects as assigned.

Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with staff etc. Must be able to speak clearly, understand normal communication, and be understood. Must be able to see clearly and have the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they actually are.
Cognitive: Must be able to analyze the information being received, count accurately, concentrate and focus on the given task, summarize the information being received, accurately interpret written data, synthesize information from multiple sources, write summaries as needed, interpret written or verbal instructions, and recognize social or professional behavioral cues.
Environmental Conditions: Frequent exposure to varied office (medical clinic/office) environments. Rare exposure to dust and loud noises.
