About the role
We are looking for an Engineer to support the design, governance and continuous improvement of asset master data across our maintenance systems. In this role, you will apply engineering knowledge to help ensure equipment, material and maintenance information is accurate, structured and aligned with operational needs. Working closely with maintenance, operations and functional teams, you will help strengthen the foundation that supports planning, execution and long-term asset management decisions.

What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Manager Asset Management, you will:
- Drive asset management improvements through effective master data governance, engineering knowledge and maintenance best practices.
- Maintain and improve the quality, integrity and standardisation of asset, material and equipment data within SAP and related systems.
- Provide technical support and coaching to users on Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) processes in SAP, transactions and reporting.
- Lead or support system upgrades, ERP initiatives, data migrations and process improvement projects.
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, task lists and maintenance procedures.
- Manage interfaces, reports, dashboards and data extraction processes to support operational decision-making.
- Review and improve bills of materials, material specifications and asset hierarchies to align with maintenance strategies.
- Partner with field maintenance and operations teams to solve equipment and process challenges and deliver long-term reliability improvements.
About you

Required for Success
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, industrial or related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in maintenance, reliability, asset management or engineering within mining, processing, manufacturing or another safety-critical industrial environment.
- Experience working with SAP Computerized Maintenance Management Systems and master data processes.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends and implement sustainable process improvements.
- Eligibility for registration with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P. Eng.
Helpful for Success
- Experience supporting ERP or large-scale system transformation projects.
- Knowledge of materials management, procurement and maintenance planning processes.
- Experience developing maintenance strategies, bills of materials or equipment hierarchies.
- Advanced Excel, reporting and data analysis capabilities.

The base salary range for this role is $90,560 – $135,840 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
