This position is based out of PEMC in Georgetown, KY.

Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Body Production Engineering (PE) department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineer II - Production Engineering (Body weld).

A successful candidate will be:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the person in this role will support the Body Production Engineering department's objective to provide new model processes to the manufacturing facilities which meet all targets for Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost in the Area of Resource Management, Gentani for Cost for Technical Assistance and Equipment, North America Manufacturing Company (NAMC) Support for Ringi Approvals and CAPEX, and Project Support for Vendors in Operations Pillar for BPE Act 1.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop countermeasures or direction proposals and distill critical decision points to evaluate only necessary judgment criteria that link to project goals / group KPIs and build consensus among correct stakeholders
  • Coaching others through task-based activity in area of expertise
  • Creating accurate schedule with clear project milestones to assigned and self-identified scope
  • Have skill and initiative to navigate complex scenarios, ability to work through task within silo/scope and can communicate escalation needs effectively, demonstrating Toyota Way thinking
  • Identifies Kaizen opportunities and collaborates with working group to complete countermeasures and demonstrates ability to yokoten within team and group
  • Achieving self-made schedule in standard time with complex scope of work
  • Developing process plans, proposals, schedules, and project tracking based on early planning assumptions

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Technology field or at least 5 years’ experience in related manufacturing environment
  • Willing to work up to 25% overtime
  • Willing to travel 25% to support go-and-see, confirm production changepoints, meet with and support customers and stakeholders onsite at North America Manufacturing Company (NAMC)
  • PE Manufacturing experience including specification, tooling/jig design, equipment procurement, and installation
  • Project management experience including scheduling, budgeting, coordinating, problem solving, and reporting
  • Experience identifying opportunities for improvement, investigating root cause, and developing countermeasures.
  • Experience creating decision matrix ensuring critical decisions points included in criteria
  • Experience with Carott 3 / Delmia / Catia or other 2D/3D CAD software experience, and AutoCAD including the ability to read, interpret and modify 3D models and processes

Added bonus if you have

  • Master’s degree (or Higher) in Engineering or Technology field
  • TMNA Body PE experience or equivalent NAMC Body Pilot, special projects, or NAMC Body PE Experience in planning, specification creation, and installation [including TM, CW, or co-op] (2+ year) remove TMNA since we are looking at externals as well
  • General Toyota body structure & processing knowledge / body structural and manufacturing process knowledge
  • JKK completion
  • TBP completion through panel
  • At least 2 years of experience with 2 or more Body PE functions [SE, Logistics, Planning, Quality, BAC, Circle G, Seibi, DE, Robot Team, Innovation group, etc.]
  • Experience in planning and executing welding or logistics equipment installation & trials
  • Working experience with Power BI
