Apply Job Type Full-time Description Engines Superintendent Location: Remote Department: Field Service – Large Bore Engines Reports To: Manager, Field Service Operations Work Type: Full-Time | Field-Based Travel: Up to 75–80% Domestic & International Direct Reports: Field Engineers & Technicians (project-based leadership) Pay: $54.00 - $62.00 per hour, based on experience Bonus: Eligible for performance-based incentive program About the Role MSHS Pacific Power Group is seeking an experienced Engines Superintendent to provide senior technical leadership for the performance, reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle management of large-bore engine assets. This field-based role serves as a technical authority on engine operations, troubleshooting, maintenance, failure analysis, and corrective actions. The Engines Superintendent works closely with field engineers, technicians, customers, OEMs, service providers, and internal teams to ensure engines are operating safely, reliably, and in accordance with OEM and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with hands-on engine experience, sound technical judgment, and the ability to lead complex field projects in marine and industrial environments. Key Responsibilities Oversee engine performance, reliability, maintenance, and lifecycle planning. Develop and review maintenance strategies, overhaul plans, repair scopes, and technical procedures. Provide technical leadership and guidance to field engineers and technicians. Troubleshoot complex engine issues and support root cause and failure analysis. Monitor engine performance, reliability trends, downtime, and maintenance costs. Coordinate with OEMs, service providers, classification societies, and regulatory agencies. Support inspections, audits, commissioning, overhauls, and major field service projects. Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and OEM requirements. Communicate technical risks, maintenance priorities, and recommendations to management and customers. Identify opportunities to improve engine reliability, availability, efficiency, and lifecycle costs. Travel extensively to vessels, shipyards, plants, and customer facilities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline required. 8–12+ years of progressive experience in engine operations, maintenance, marine engineering, power generation, or fleet/asset management. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Senior Engineer, Technical Manager, or Technical Authority strongly preferred. Extensive knowledge of medium- and low-speed engines and fuel, lubrication, cooling, and control systems. Strong troubleshooting, diagnostics, failure analysis, and technical decision-making skills. Experience with preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance. Proficiency with technical documentation systems. Experience working with OEMs, service providers, and regulatory/classification organizations preferred. Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel up to 75–80% , including domestic and international travel.
