WHY WE WILL LOVE YOU
You are passionate about technology, security and innovation, and motivated by turning architectural direction into meaningful business outcomes. You combine strategic thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach and can make complex security topics understandable and actionable for a broad range of stakeholders.
You have a product- and customer-centric mindset and understand that security architecture must enable, rather than slow down, digital innovation. You are comfortable working in an environment of continuous change, balancing long-term architectural direction with the needs of product teams and modern engineering practices. You enjoy working independently while building strong partnerships across technology, business, risk and security functions. Above all, you share and live the IKEA culture and values.
To be successful in this role, you have extensive experience in cyber security, enterprise architecture, technology architecture, computer science or a related field. You have led or significantly contributed to enterprise-wide security architecture transformation in a complex, global organisation ideally within retail, digital commerce or another large-scale omnichannel environment.
We believe you have significant experience in security, architecture, engineering or technology leadership roles, including experience designing secure, resilient and scalable distributed systems. You have worked with senior leaders to translate business priorities, technology strategy, regulatory expectations and cyber risk into clear architecture direction, investment priorities and practical guardrails.
You bring a strategic, holistic and outcome-led mindset, with the ability to influence change across a diverse organisation.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Enterprise Architect, Security, you are part of the Enterprise Architecture leadership team and play a key role in shaping the security, privacy and trust for the Ingka’s digital landscape. You provide strategic direction, principles, standards and architecture guardrails that enable secure, resilient and trusted digital products, platforms and services.
You will lead and evolve enterprise-wide Security Architecture, connecting business ambitions, cyber risk, technology strategy and modern engineering practices. You will help ensure security is embedded by design across Ingka’s digital ecosystem from cloud platforms and identity services to data, AI, applications and cyber defence capabilities.
You will work closely with Cyber Security, Privacy, Digital Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Data & AI, Product and Engineering leaders to enable secure innovation at scale. Your decisions will serve the needs of Ingka as a whole, rather than optimising for individual domains or technologies.
In this role, you will
• Define and evolve Ingka’s Security Architecture, target state and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities, technology strategy and cyber risk appetite.
• Establish reusable security principles, standards and reference architectures across Zero Trust, identity and access management, cloud and SaaS security, data protection, application and platform security, and cyber defence.
• Drive secure-by-design and secure-by-default practices by translating security, privacy and compliance requirements into practical guardrails, patterns and automated controls for product, platform and engineering teams.
• Guide the development of Ingka’s modern Cyber Defence Architecture, strengthening capabilities for prevention, detection, response, recovery, security observability and automation.
• Shape and evolve the AI Security Architecture together with Security, Enterprise Architecture, Data & AI, Privacy and Risk teams, enabling the secure and responsible adoption of AI across Ingka.
• Act as a subject matter expert on AI security, advising stakeholders on AI-related risks, governance, controls, data protection, secure architecture patterns and emerging threats.
• Identify and drive the security capabilities, products and services needed to enable secure AI adoption, modern engineering practices and scalable digital innovation.
• Lead resolution of complex cross-domain security architecture challenges, including identity boundaries, privileged access, cloud and workload protection, network segmentation and shared security services.
• Represent the CISO organisation and broader security interests in architecture governance, strategic initiatives and investment decisions.
• Partner with Cyber Security & Privacy, Digital Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Data & AI, Product and Engineering leaders to ensure security architecture enables resilient, compliant and trusted digital products and services.
You bring the following capabilities and experience
• Ability to align senior stakeholders, including executive and board-level audiences, around a common security vision, architecture direction and prioritised outcomes.
• Ability to define and evolve strategic security architecture direction, manage complex trade-offs, and balance cyber risk reduction with business value, speed, usability, resilience and cost.
• Strong knowledge of modern security architecture across cloud, hybrid and SaaS environments, including identity and access management, data security, application security, platform security, network security and cyber defence.
• Experience designing and evolving security capabilities for cloud-native, API-led, distributed and event-driven technology landscapes.
• Deep understanding of Zero Trust principles and the ability to translate these into scalable architecture patterns, guardrails and engineering practices.
• Extensive experience in identity and access management, including authentication, authorisation, privileged access, machine identities, secrets management and certificate lifecycle management.
• Experience with security observability, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, security automation and continuous control monitoring.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, software delivery, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, automated security testing, policy-as-code and platform engineering.
• Experience developing enterprise architecture principles, target architectures, reference architectures, standards and roadmaps that can be adopted across multiple domains and product teams.
• Knowledge of data and AI security, including the secure adoption of AI services, model and data protection, access controls, third-party AI risk, AI governance and emerging AI-related threats.
• Ability to solve complex, cross-domain architecture challenges and guide technology transformation that enables new digital opportunities and business models.
• A strong understanding of enterprise architecture and the ability to connect security architecture decisions with business strategy, digital products, platforms and the wider technology landscape.
• Experience leading, coaching and developing architecture or engineering teams, while influencing stakeholders beyond direct reporting lines.
You are a collaborative and trusted leader who can engage a diverse set of stakeholders and create clarity in complex situations. You are attentive to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture, actively develop your own knowledge and capabilities, and champion ways of working that improve speed, quality and security. You are curious about emerging technologies and can adapt your approach as business priorities, threats and technology evolve.
