About the role: Peabody are currently seeking ERZ Controllers to join our Centurion underground mine , Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. There are multiple roles available in Outbye, Development and Longwall. For more information on Centurion visit (centurionmine.com.au) Your key responsibilities: Performing statutory and compliance inspections in line with legislation and Centurion SHMS. Ensuring teams operate production processes and equipment safely. Delivering maintenance schedules in accordance with statutory and site regulations. Facilitating crew / shift communication sessions. Achieving and driving agreed production targets safely. The lifestyle: This role is a permanent opportunity and is offered as a 7:7 day/night roster with FIFO and DIDO options. Flights will be included for the candidate to fly from Brisbane into Moranbah. Relocation assistance will also be offered to the right candidate. Job Summary The Supervisor ERZ Controller is responsible for the day-to-day functioning and performance of a production crew and certain statutory obligations. This role is primarily concerned with managing people and equipment to effectively carry out planned work activities. Job Description KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Visibly support and champion Peabody’s Missions and Values Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System Plan, direct and lead the work of a crew or team Prioritize work activities of the crew to achieve production and maintenance targets established in shift planning processes Provide leadership to crew members, setting positive example and assisting in issues of team development Contribute to and implement the safety management plan of the mine Perform statutory inspections (as required) of work area and equipment in accordance with legislation Monitor crew compliance with audit standards and safety procedures, adhering to correct machine operating and engineering procedures Participate in shift communication processes as well as identify, convey and be accountable for issues impacting the crew’s effectiveness and performance Complete required levels of reporting as part of information-flow on site Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements Other duties as assigned by the company EXPERIENCE 2 years mining experience required Physical Requirements Physical Requirements - Surface Environment Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 – 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays) Physical Requirements - Underground Environment Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA Must have the ability to bend or stoop for a full work period as a result of mine height Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination Must have the ability to lift 25 – 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 80 lbs. Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays) Physical Requirements - Office Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents Must be able to find, remove and return files to/from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc. Education Trade certification(s) required Job Segment: Coal Mining, Sustainability, Risk Management, Accounting, Mining, Energy, Finance
