Description
Are you passionate about the resilience and reliability of fire control systems for critical US Navy capabilities? Do you possess an intimate understanding of the hardware and software integration that makes a fire control / weapon control system robust? Do you thrive on the challenge of engineering systems that are designed to perform under the most demanding operational conditions?
If so, we're looking for you to join our team!
We are seeking an experienced Fire Control Engineer to join our dedicated, multidisciplinary team of engineers and former weapon system operators. We leverage subject matter expertise, operational data, and strategic partnerships with industry and government to architect the resilient, fault-tolerant weapon control systems essential to current and next-generation deterrent missions.
As a Fire Control Engineer, you will...
- Perform deep-dive analysis on data from deployed weapon systems to characterize performance limits, identify anomalous behaviors, and improve recovery capabilities of weapon control and missile guidance subsystems.
- Provide independent technical reviews of proposed system updates of both the hardware and software, interfacing directly with the prime contractors and government sponsors to ensure mission assurance.
- Participate in a wide variety of test and evaluation efforts, ranging from laboratory tests to full-scale system tests conducted at government facilities or onboard Navy platforms.
- Shape the architecture of future weapon systems to ensure they are built with inherent robustness and extreme operational resilience.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to promote a culture where system reliability, performance stability, and mission assurance are the core pillars of every design decision.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Aerospace).
- Have professional experience working with a complex weapon control system.
- Have experience in early concept development, performance analysis, systems integration, or requirements engineering activities for complex systems.
- Have strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
- Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
- Have experience with the Trident II Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control system.
- Have professional experience analyzing performance aspects of sophisticated digital systems.
- Have experience with the Air Force’s Minuteman III or Sentinel systems, or with OHIO, VIRGINIA, or COLUMBIA-class submarines.
- Possess an active Secret security clearance and are eligible for a Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
