Job Title: Facilities Operations Director

Location: Greenwich, CT

Job Type: Direct Hire / Perm Role

Compensation: $141,000-$150,000 – Commensurate

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Facilities Director to cover our Greenwich Academy (K-12 independent school) site. This client is a very well-known brand in the industry across the globe. In this role you will be responsible for providing top-tier integrated facilities management (IFM) services in harmony with the Academy’s commitment to excellence, student and faculty well-being, and the preservation of its historic campus.

To qualify on this role, you must have at least 5 years of experience with IFM leadership and proven experience managing a comprehensive facilities program within an educational or campus environment.

Responsibilities of the Controls Engineer:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to a dedicated team of tradespeople and custodial staff, ensuring the campus remains safe, well-maintained, and inviting.

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with school leadership and faculty through active listening, clear communication, and a commitment to responsive service.

  • Direct all facets of facilities operations, including preventive maintenance, capital improvement planning, custodial oversight, and vendor coordination.

  • Administer and refine the operational budget, implementing sustainable and cost-efficient strategies to maximize resources.

  • Apply expertise in Building Automation Systems—preferably Trane—to diagnose issues and enhance system performance.

Qualifications of the Controls Engineer:

  • Possesses a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Brings over five years of leadership in Integrated Facilities Management (IFM).

  • Proven track record managing comprehensive facilities programs within educational institutions or comparable campus environments.

  • Skilled in building, leading, and motivating high-performing facilities teams.

  • Experienced in overseeing maintenance operations for buildings and property within a single-site setting.

  • Well-versed in mechanical systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS).

  • Client requires on-campus residency in a second-floor apartment situated directly above the facilities maintenance shop.
