Company Overview

Our client is a rapidly growing AI infrastructure company specializing in building and operating hyperscale data centers that support advanced AI computing workloads. The organization provides critical infrastructure solutions for major technology companies and is expanding its data center operations across the United States.

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Facilities Operators to support mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and cooling infrastructure across high-density AI data centers.

The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of hands-on experience in critical facilities or data center operations, with strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling systems, redundancy, preventive maintenance, and incident response.

Candidates from hyperscale data centers, colocation providers, and other mission-critical infrastructure environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure in live data center environments.
  • Support electrical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), and associated infrastructure.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot cooling infrastructure, including chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, HVAC systems, and liquid-cooling systems where applicable.
  • Monitor facility performance, power capacity, cooling efficiency, redundancy, and operational risks to ensure high availability.
  • Respond to critical infrastructure incidents, troubleshoot system failures, and coordinate escalations with engineering and technical teams.
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment inspections, operational audits, and high-risk maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with colocation partners, contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
  • Support data hall buildouts, construction activities, commissioning, testing, and facility operational readiness.
  • Participate in change management, root cause analysis, incident reporting, and continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, technical documentation, and operational procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in critical facilities operations, preferably within hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or mission-critical data centers.
  • Hands-on experience supporting electrical and mechanical infrastructure in active, high-availability facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, electrical distribution, chillers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of power and cooling redundancy configurations, including N+1, N+2, and 2N.
  • Familiarity with data center capacity planning, power and cooling calculations, and industry standards such as ASHRAE and TIA-942.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, incident response, troubleshooting, and infrastructure reliability.
  • Ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, maintenance activities, and technical escalations.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work fully onsite and support demanding operational schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with liquid cooling, direct-to-chip cooling, or high-density AI data center infrastructure.
  • Exposure to GPU infrastructure such as NVIDIA H100, B200, or GB200.
  • Previous experience in hyperscale data centers, including AWS, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Equinix, Switch, or CyrusOne.
  • Experience supporting L1–L5 commissioning, data hall construction, and operational readiness.
  • Familiarity with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, and critical facility monitoring systems.
  • Experience in a Chief Engineer, Lead Critical Facilities Technician, or senior Facilities Operations role.
  • Electrical, mechanical, or facilities engineering degree, diploma, or relevant technical certifications.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Equity-eligible compensation package.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement benefits.
  • Paid time off.
  • Comprehensive relocation assistance for eligible candidates.
