Role Description

We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Head Barista who combines technical expertise, creativity and attentive guest service.

Joining ahead of opening, you will help refine our beverage offering, establish preparation standards and train the opening barista team.

Working closely with the Club Operations Manager, you will lead daily bar operations, maintain quality during busy service and create a welcoming experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to beverage menu development through recipe testing, tastings and signature drink creation.
• Establish standard recipes, portion sizes, preparation methods and presentation guidelines.
• Support bar setup, equipment assessment, workflow planning.
• Train and coach the barista team in beverage preparation, equipment care and guest service.
• Develop beverage presentation standards, including latte art, garnishes and creative finishing details that reflect Rhythm’s identity.
• Lead daily bar preparation and service, coordinating with front-of-house and kitchen colleagues.
• Monitor stock, ordering requirements, storage, shelf life and waste.
• Produce beverage recipe costings and maintain portion controls in line with agreed targets.
• Uphold hygiene and allergen standards, oversee equipment cleaning and coordinate maintenance requirements.
• Engage with guests, explain the beverage offering and make thoughtful recommendations.

What You Bring

• Experience as a Head Barista or Senior Barista with demonstrated readiness to lead a team.
• The ability to identify and correct issues affecting coffee flavour and consistency.
• Experience developing beverage recipes and delivering consistent quality during busy service.
• Strong latte art skills, including free-pour patterns and detailed beverage presentation.
• Confidence training colleagues and organising an efficient bar workflow.
• Familiarity with stock control, recipe costing, waste management and equipment care.
• Clear communication, attentive guest service and a collaborative, hands-on approach.
