📍 Location: Full-time, on-site role based in London

About the Role

As our Finance Lead, you will report directly to our Head of Finance and act as their right hand in building a finance function fit for a newly authorised FCA Electronic Money Institution (EMI).

  • You will own safeguarding day to day, making sure customer funds are protected, reconciled and reported correctly every single day.
  • You will lead on regulatory reporting and capital adequacy, making sure nsave meets its obligations to the FCA accurately and on time.
  • You will build and strengthen the controls, processes and reporting that allow nsave to scale safely across new markets.

Who you are
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in finance at an FCA-regulated EMI or payment institution, or in audit or advisory work for these firms
  • Strong track record of running safeguarding under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 and Payment Services Regulations 2017, including the FCA’s new safeguarding regime (CASS 15)
  • Ability to prepare FCA regulatory returns, calculate own funds and capital requirements, and support liquidity and wind-down planning
  • Excellent communication skills and sound judgment, with the confidence to challenge and escalate when something isn’t right
  • Meticulous attention to detail in areas where accuracy is non-negotiable
  • Experience in fintech, startups, or regulated environments is a plus, as is experience with multi-currency operations or supporting a firm through FCA authorisation

How You’ll Make a Difference
  • Own and deliver safeguarding end-to-end: daily reconciliations, resolving breaks, the monthly safeguarding return, and the annual safeguarding audit
  • Design, build, and iterate on our safeguarding policy, procedures, resolution pack and financial control framework
  • Prepare and submit FCA regulatory returns, and monitor capital and liquidity positions against requirements
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance, Compliance, Risk, Operations and our banking partners to achieve company goals
  • Support the month-end close, management accounts, year-end audit, budgeting and board reporting
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and move quickly to implement solutions
  • Uphold high standards in execution, security, and compliance

Please apply only if you:

  • Thrive in high-ownership, high-accountability environments
  • Are comfortable operating with urgency and ambiguity
  • Want to build from first principles in an early-stage, high-growth company

  • 30 days Annual Leave:
(+ 3 mandatory bank holidays: Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day). The other 5 UK bank holidays may be taken as flexible leave at any time during the year.
  • Visa Sponsorship available
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • £500 GBP Health & Wellness Budget
  • Individual Learning & Development Budget
