What you need to know
- TTI is a Texas based agency. This position has the flexibility of a hybrid remote option with three days in a TTI Texas based office. This can be discussed further during the interview process.
- Your primary duty station will be TTI Bryan HQ, located at 1111 Rellis Pkwy, Bryan, TX 77807. You are required to report to this location for the first 30 days of employment. Following this initial period, a flexible work arrangement may be approved at the agency’s discretion.
- The salary range for position is commensurate. Final salary will be determined based on the applicant's qualifications and experience.
- A Presidential proclamation issued on September 19, 2025, imposes a $100,000 fee on new H-1B petitions filed after September 21, 2025. Please be advised that Texas A&M University will NOT pay this fee. Therefore, if you need immigration sponsorship for your employment, we recommend that you consult with your private immigration counsel at your own expense to ascertain whether your current immigration status would make a potential offer of employment from Texas A&M University subject to this fee.

Job Summary
The Financial Analyst I, under general supervision, is responsible for preparing projections, analyzing variances, and reporting findings. The incumbent will prepare reports and financial presentations and will perform data entry and provide billing and accounting related support to service centers, external customers, general ledger reconciliations and management reporting. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Special Projects Analysis 40%
- Prepares projections, analyzes variances, and summarizes findings. Researches and analyzes data in support of strategic goals and process enhancement. Leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance data analysis, identify trends and patterns, and drive process improvements and operational efficiency. Investigates budgeting, accounting, and departmental issues; analyzes data. Maintains Business Objects reports and Power BI shared workspaces that support division objectives.
Service Centers 30%
- Provides support in the agency's service center financial transactions. Ensures accurate entry into the Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS) for manual invoices, budgets, interdepartmental transfers (IDTs) and various transaction corrections. Provides support in the monthly billing process in various systems (Oracle, FAMIS, and Maestro), assists support staff responsible for processing billings. Assists the Financial Manager in the preparation and review of service rate studies, compilation and preparation of current analysis for new service center requests to determine if rates are reasonable and in compliance. Collaborates with the Financial Manager in the preparation and analysis of the annual review for service centers.
General Ledger Accounting Entry, Reconciliations & AFR Responsibilities 15%
- Prepares and enters journal entries in FAMIS and performs and/or coordinates monthly reconciliation of all assigned general ledger accounts. Reconciles entry of accounts receivable and daily cash summary sheets at control level and reconciles subsidiary automated accounts receivable to the general ledger monthly. Assists Manager, Accounting and Financial Analyst III in Annual Financial Report (AFR) workpaper development, analysis, preparing and posting AFR entries for FAMIS and Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS), including Note 2 and completion of Capital Asset Note Submission System (CANSS) reporting.
External Customers 8%
- Provides support in external customer billings and accounting; assists in the entry of budgets and prepares manual invoices. Drafts external customer agreements, contracts, and amendments. Collaborates with principal investigators, TAMUS OGC, and RELLIS Administration to incorporate updates and submit for approval. Routes final documents to CFO for approval.
Management Reporting 6%
- Provides monthly fund balance verification for management reporting and monthly fluctuation analysis of financial statement activity under general supervision of Director, Accounting and Chief Financial Officer. Analyzes financial statements and prepares management reports for FNS leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned. 1%
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Two years of related experience.
