Forward Deployed AI Engineer

About the Role

Join a customer-facing engineering team building AI automations for the insurance industry. You will work with enterprise customers to understand their workflows, deliver practical solutions quickly, and feed successful implementations back into the core platform.

What You'll Do

• Own customer implementations from requirements gathering through deployment.

• Build and ship AI agents and automations, often within the same week as scoping conversations.

• Work post-sale with enterprise customers to understand business needs and define technical solutions.

• Bring successful customer-specific solutions into the broader platform in collaboration with product and engineering.

What We're Looking For

• Three to six years of software engineering, forward deployed, solutions, implementation, or product engineering experience.

• Strong full-stack skills and proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.

• Experience in customer-facing engineering, including scoping and shipping multiple enterprise features or automations.

• Ability to balance hands-on coding with customer communication and requirements gathering.

• Startup experience, including experience at a Series A or later venture-backed company.

• Experience building or deploying AI, LLM, or agentic workflows in production is a plus.

• Insurance or financial services experience is a plus.

• Strong engineering fundamentals and a record of taking ownership in fast-moving environments.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $180,000 to $300,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in San Francisco, California.
