Forward Deployed Engineer

Forward Deployed Engineer | Remote (US) | $200-300k base + benefits

My client builds an AI-native, real-time core banking platform. It replaces legacy mainframe cores at Tier-1 US banks. The team is small, senior and backed by one of the largest fintech groups in the world.

They are hiring Forward Deployed Engineers to sit inside bank environments and take legacy-to-modern migrations from pilot to production.

What you will do:

• Embed with a bank’s engineering leadership and own the integration between legacy systems and a new core platform, end to end
• Split your time 50/50 between hands-on engineering and acting as a trusted technical advisor to bank technology leaders
• Build Java or Go microservices, Kafka pipelines and data integrations in production
• Take clients from pilot in weeks to scale and production sign-off
• Work AI-first every day, using AI tools across your build, debug and review workflow

What you bring:

• Direct client-facing delivery experience. You have worked in front of customers, not only behind a ticket queue
• 5+ years of SWE experience
• Distributed systems depth at financial scale, with Kafka and Kubernetes experience
• Banking or payments domain experience
• Experience modernising legacy systems
• Strong ownership. You make decisions, write them down and see them through
• Comfort with 25-35% travel to client sites
