Founding Engineer, Applied AI

About the Role

Join an early engineering team building AI systems for complex manufacturing and hardware workflows. In this foundational role, you will shape the product, architecture, and engineering culture while developing tools that help manufacturers address challenging engineering problems.

What You'll Do

• Design and build core workflows and infrastructure for AI agents used in hardware engineering, including context management, indexing, and model post-training.

• Develop AI agents and machine learning models that interpret and work with complex engineering design data in enterprise toolchains.

• Work directly with customers and teammates to deliver reliable, intuitive AI workflows for production use.

• Prototype ideas, validate them with users, and ship improvements from concept through deployment.

• Contribute to early architectural decisions, engineering practices, and product direction.

What We're Looking For

• Two to six years of experience in applied machine learning, backend engineering, or AI infrastructure, or exceptional new graduates with strong fundamentals.

• Strong familiarity with large language model architectures and current agent research.

• Experience building production machine learning or AI systems, including practical search and information retrieval work.

• Strong Python skills and experience with tools such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, and Weights & Biases.

• A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, machine learning, or an equivalent field.

• Experience with geometric data or CAD systems is a plus, as is a builder mindset and care for customer experience.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $180,000 to $250,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
