Full Stack Engineer

About Us:

NAYA is recruiting on behalf of a growing AI startup. We are seeking a Full Stack (Product) Engineer with 3+ years of experience. You will help build the infrastructure and tools that turn raw audio data into actionable products for customers. This role is primarily backend (60–70%) but will involve full-stack feature development in a fast-paced, research-driven startup environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead end-to-end feature development, with the majority of work on backend systems.
• Build and scale pipelines that process large volumes of audio data (terabytes) and derive insights for clients.
• Work closely with machine learning research teams to improve data collection, processing, and model-training pipelines.
• Implement and deploy solutions involving large language models (LLMs) and digital signal processing (DSP) to enhance audio data workflows.
• Participate in the full product lifecycle: design, code reviews, deployment, and monitoring of production systems.
• Mentor and collaborate with fellow engineers, helping to shape technical standards and architecture as the team grows.
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (full stack or backend-focused).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, and JavaScript. Strong skills in building and scaling production systems (API/backend services, databases, data pipelines, etc.).
• Product Focus: Ability to translate technical work into user-facing outcomes. Enjoys tackling complex data problems with a user/product mindset.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of coordinating with product, research, and data teams.
• Startup Mindset: Comfortable in a fast-moving startup environment where we ship to production daily and iterate quickly.
• Bonus: Experience or interest in audio, speech data, machine learning, or generative AI is a plus (but not required).
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $180K–$250K USD/year (based on experience, with flexibility for outstanding candidates).

Work Arrangement

• On-Site in San Francisco: This is a full-time position requiring in-office work in our SF office (5 days per week).
