About the Role

Our client is hiring a Software Engineer, Marketplace and Growth Infrastructure to build the internal platforms and automation systems that power its expert marketplace.

This is not a traditional growth engineering role focused on marketing experiments or conversion optimization. Instead, you'll build the software that enables growth teams to recruit, interview, assess, onboard, and match experts with customer projects.

You'll own full-stack systems end-to-end, including AI-powered interviewing, expert management platforms, internal automation, and eventually machine learning-driven matching and recommendation systems.

This is a high-ownership role with direct exposure to business operations and opportunities to build products that dramatically increase team productivity.

What You'll Do

• Build and scale the infrastructure powering expert acquisition, assessment, onboarding, and project matching.
• Develop internal platforms for managing experts, applications, interviews, and project assignments.
• Build AI-powered interviewing and assessment tools.
• Create outreach automation and recruiting workflows that reduce manual work.
• Develop systems that match experts to projects based on skills, availability, and fit.
• Partner directly with growth teams to identify operational bottlenecks and build solutions.
• Instrument acquisition and onboarding funnels to measure performance and identify improvements.
• Build internal tools that increase operational throughput and reduce repetitive processes.
• Help develop ML-powered recommendation systems that predict expert demand and automate project staffing.
• Own features from initial requirements through deployment and iteration.

What We're Looking For

• 2–5 years of professional full-stack software engineering experience.
• Experience building production applications across frontend and backend systems.
• Strong understanding of APIs, databases, data modeling, and scalable application architecture.
• Experience building internal tools, platforms, or workflow automation.
• Ability to translate business problems into practical engineering solutions.
• Interest in AI-powered applications, agents, and machine learning-driven workflows.
• Strong product judgment and ability to prioritize high-impact improvements.
• Comfortable working directly with non-engineering teams to understand operational challenges.
• High ownership, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment.

Bonus Experience

• Experience building marketplaces, hiring platforms, recruiting software, or workforce management systems.
• Experience developing AI-powered interviewers, assessments, or automation tools.
• Experience with recommendation systems, matching algorithms, or applied machine learning.
• Experience building workflow orchestration or internal productivity platforms.
• Experience at an early-stage or high-growth startup.
