The Tianjin Juilliard School (TJS) is the first and only branch campus of The Juilliard School in New York and represents a broad initiative to expand the schools’ global positions as leaders in classical music training and cultural exchange. Approved by the Ministry of Education in China, TJS welcomed its first class of pre-college students in the 2019 academic year, and the graduate class in Fall 2020. By equipping its musicians with core educational values and cultivating experiences, TJS, along with its dedicated world-class faculty, intends to take on the challenge of guiding aspiring artists on the path to achieving their full potential not only as musicians, but also as global ambassadors. Through a combination of highly selective graduate and pre-college programs and inspiring performances in a state-of-the-art facility, TJS has quickly become educational and cultural destination in the Asia-Pacific region. For more information about the school, please click on the following link: https://www.tianjinjuilliard.edu.cn Responsibilities: • Teach applied lessons and lead weekly performance classes for both Graduate Studies Program and Pre-College • Coach chamber music • Lead sectional rehearsals for TJS Graduate Orchestra • Play side-by-side with graduate students in chamber music and orchestra as needed • Teach in a secondary area as qualified • Actively recruit students • Perform chamber music with colleagues as part of the TJS resident faculty ensemble Qualifications: • Fluency in English (the graduate program at TJS is accredited by Middle States Commission on Higher Education, therefore all courses are taught in English) • Extensive experience performing in professional Western orchestras and chamber ensembles at the highest international level • Minimum 5 years of collegiate teaching experience required • Entrepreneurial minded and comfortable with the uncertainties associated with a new venture Salary and Benefits: • Competitive full-time salary • Expatriate faculty packages that include: o Housing o International private school for children o Annual trips back home o Medical insurance o Relocation assistance o Multi-year contract Professional Opportunities: • Performance opportunities in major venues in China and Asia.
