A privately held national distribution company is acquiring a smaller distributor in the Big Lake area and needs the General Manager who will run it.
This is not one job in one town. It is the integration seat for a company that intends to keep buying. Take this business from a loss to profitability, fold it into the national platform, then move to the next one.
If you want a stable operation to maintain, this is not it.
The work. Learn the P&L directly from the owner, who stays through the transition. Evaluate a ten-person team that has not turned a profit in three years and find out why. Integrate product lines, purchasing, vendor terms, and freight. Then consolidate the facility and move to the next acquisition. No sales quota, a sales team is already in place. You run the business.
What we require. You have personally owned a P&L, not contributed to one. You have led a consolidation, integration, or restructuring and made the staffing calls that come with it. You can work alongside a founder. You are willing to travel and relocate for future acquisitions. Distribution, wholesale, or manufacturing background preferred.
Industry experience is not required. This is a growth role more than a management role. You will run the business day to day, but the real work is the P&L and the strategy: finding where the money is going, tying the two companies together, and building the model this owner will use for every acquisition after this one.
Two things to know. The facility consolidates into the parent operation in roughly eighteen months. That is planned, not a risk, and it is when you move to the next one. Compensation is weighted toward performance and grows with each acquisition.
Compensation. This role is built to grow, not sit still. Base $110,000, plus ten percent of EBITDA improvement over baseline for two years, plus milestone bonuses tied to results. Year one target is $130,000. Year two moves to $150,000 to $175,000, and it keeps climbing from there as the platform expands, because every acquisition you run adds to what you earn next. Relocation assistance available. This is not a role with a ceiling, it is the start of a comp curve that compounds with each deal.
