The Role (Facilities Operations Specialist) The contractor will support Facilities & Engineering across plant engineering, environmental health and safety (EHS), facility planning and design, and project engineering. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support and collaborate on site engineering objectives related to plant engineering, facility planning and design, and project engineering Assist the facilities operations and maintenance team with procurement and coordination, as needed Execute and/or support site improvements to engineering, EHS, and operations procedures Support facility technical and safety investigations, including documentation and follow-up Contribute to operational excellence initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution and site priorities Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, Electronics, or Business Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) Demonstrated ability to identify issues, analyze options, and recommend solutions Ability to work independently and collaboratively on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Efficient, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities on short timelines Experience or strong interest in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable regulatory expectations Experience with data analytics, including building charts and tables in Excel Knowledge of environmental sustainability concepts is a plus Experience with Power Automate, Power BI and/or AI tools (Claude) is a plus Coordinator: Olivia Whisman (TAW) Requisition Start Date: 07/06/2026 Requisition End Date: 08/28/2026 Business Unit: Gilead Sciences Site: US - CA - Santa Monica Location: US - CA - Santa Monica
