About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Global Health, Physical Wellbeing & Life Director located in Midland, MI! In this role, you will provide enterprise leadership for the strategy, design, governance and performance of Dow’s global health, physical wellbeing, life insurance, disability and retiree medical programs. You will be accountable for ensuring programs are globally consistent, locally relevant and aligned with Dow’s Total Rewards philosophy, workforce needs, and long-term business objectives.

You will own Dow’s healthcare cost strategy and the long-term sustainability of its health and wellbeing investments. You will also establish enterprise design standards and governance, lead global vendor strategy and performance, and partner with regional and functional leaders and Dow’s Occupational Health organization to achieve effective delivery outcomes.

Leading multiple teams, including some through other people leaders, you will bring deep health and wellbeing expertise, strong commercial and financial judgment, and the ability to navigate complex global healthcare and regulatory environments. You will serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, influence enterprise decisions and build alignment across a broad network of internal and external stakeholders.

Success requires advanced critical thinking, the ability to resolve complex and often unprecedented business challenges, and a disciplined focus on cost, risk, employee experience and measurable value. You will contribute to the development of the broader Total Rewards strategy and have a direct impact on the performance, sustainability and competitiveness of Dow’s global benefit programs.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain global governance, decision rights, approval frameworks and program standards, enabling local regulatory compliance and market relevance while promoting consistency and minimizing unnecessary complexity and exceptions.
  • Lead the evolution of health and wellbeing programs in response to healthcare cost trends, workforce demographics, employee needs, external market developments and changing business priorities.
  • Oversee material program design changes, vendor decisions and policy exceptions, ensuring decisions are supported by clear business rationale, appropriate controls and defined accountability.
  • Own global vendor and ecosystem strategy across health, wellbeing and life programs, including vendor selection, contracting, performance management, service delivery and value realization.
  • Drive simplification, standardization and operational excellence across programs, vendors, platforms and processes, including the effective use of technology, automation and controls.
  • Advance the use of data, analytics and external insights to assess program performance, measure outcomes, identify emerging risks and inform high-impact decisions.
  • Establish meaningful measures of program value, including healthcare cost trends, employee engagement, operational performance, risk management and return on investment.
  • Lead and develop a global organization of health and wellbeing professionals, typically through other people leaders, fostering accountability, collaboration, strategic thinking and strong functional capability.
  • Partner with regional and functional leaders, Occupational Health, HR, Finance, Legal, Procurement and other enterprise stakeholders to integrate health and wellbeing priorities and execute change effectively.
  • Serve as a trusted adviser to senior leaders on health and wellbeing strategy, healthcare economics, program risk and emerging market developments.
  • Provide internal and external thought leadership, representing Dow as appropriate with industry groups, advisers, vendors and other external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
