Job Description
THE ROLE
Greentown Yuhua Hopetown School is seeking an English teacher for Grade 3. The role covers four classes and combines English instruction, early literacy development, reading support, and collaboration with Chinese co-teachers.
STUDENTS & TEACHING LOAD
Four Grade 3 classes, with 32 students per class.
Each lesson lasts 35 minutes; total teaching load is no more than 20 periods.
Two Chinese co-teachers work closely with the foreign teacher; each is responsible for two of the four classes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach UFLI, an early literacy program focused on foundational reading and phonics skills, alongside Cambridge English.
Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging, and effective lessons for Grade 3 students.
Collaborate with Chinese co-teachers on lesson planning, teaching, and classroom management.
Guide, monitor, and record students’ progress in RAZ leveled reading.
Mark homework daily and provide feedback as needed.
Maintain effective communication with Chinese co-teachers and support class arrangements.
Participate in teaching research, staff meetings, and school events as required.
WORKING HOURS
7:45 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, according to the school calendar.
Requirements
- Currently in China
- Native English speaker
- Bachelor's Degree or above
- At least 2 years Primary English teaching experience
