Teaching Professor (Open Rank) Landuyt Center for Entrepreneurship Innovation, Leadership, and Engineering Entrepreneurship Grainger College of Engineering University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign The Landuyt Center for Entrepreneurship in The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for an open-rank, full-time teaching faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor rank, in the Innovation, Leadership, and Engineering Entrepreneurship Program. We seek applicants with a strong commitment to excellence in teaching by delivering high-impact engineering entrepreneurship education and experiential programming to students of all levels. This is a 100% non-tenure track, career-oriented, renewable appointment. This position joins the Landuyt Center for Entrepreneurship at a period of transformational growth and strategic expansion, providing an opportunity to shape the future of innovation and entrepreneurial education at Illinois. The candidate will support rising engagement by teaching existing courses and developing new, high-impact educational opportunities that integrate theory and application. In addition to for-credit courses, candidates may contribute to instructional efforts through co-curricular programming, such as the Cozad New Venture Challenge. This position will also mentor student teams to expand venture creation efforts, contribute to broadening entrepreneurial mindset development across campus, and participate in research-oriented entrepreneurial education projects and disseminate findings to campus and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have expertise in generative AI to develop next-generation entrepreneurial learning experiences and instructional approaches. This position will engage with campus partners throughout the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Illinois. Candidates will also have opportunities to interact with a large community of engineering education researchers through the Academy for Excellence in Engineering Education (AE3) and Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL). A doctoral degree in engineering or related field is required at the start date, as well as demonstrated interest or experience in technology commercialization, deep-tech venture creation, customer discovery, innovation, and creativity. Successful candidates will have knowledge of effective, evidence-based pedagogical practices, experience in developing curriculum, and a demonstrated ability to effectively teach and mentor/advise students from a wide range of disciplines at both the undergraduate and graduate level. In addition to teaching efforts, this position also has the opportunity to engage in research and service activities at the unit, college, and/or campus level. The budgeted salary range for the position is $90,000 to $97,000 at the Teaching Assistant Professor level, $97,000 to $105,000 at the Teaching Associate Professor level, and $105,000 to $115,000 at the Teaching Professor level, for a 9-month service basis paid over 12 months. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity. This position is eligible for work authorization sponsorship.
