Role: Hardware Design Engineer (Embedded Linux Security Platform)

Join our team and help build the next generation of security platforms powering both Intrusion Detection and Access Control solutions used by customers worldwide.
In this role, you will contribute to the development of a common hardware platform that serves as the foundation for multiple product families. Working closely with Systems Engineering, Embedded Software, Product Management, Cybersecurity, Verification, Compliance, and Manufacturing teams, you will help design and develop reliable, secure, and scalable hardware for Linux-based security products.
Your work will contribute to products designed to meet demanding security and certification requirements, including EN 50131 Grade 3 compliance for professional intrusion detection systems.
Role Description
- Hardware design engineer contributing to the development of embedded security products.
- Participates in the design and evolution of a common platform supporting both Intrusion and Access Control product families.
- Works closely with senior engineers on hardware architecture, schematic design, PCB development, and product verification.
- Translates system requirements into electronic designs and engineering documentation.
- Supports the product lifecycle from concept through verification, certification, manufacturing, and sustaining activities.
- Collaborates with hardware, software, cybersecurity, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver reliable products.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic hardware for embedded Linux-based security products.
- Create and maintain schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer.
- Participate in component selection and qualification activities.
- Assist with the integration of: processors, DDR memory, eMMC / Flash memory, communication interfaces, power management circuits.
- Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and system integration activities.
- Perform laboratory measurements and basic circuit analysis.
- Execute prototype testing and support verification activities.
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
- Contribute to resolving product issues through failure analysis and troubleshooting.
- Support manufacturing teams during prototype and production builds.
- Collaborate with Compliance and Verification teams to support certification activities.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Requirements & Technical Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electronic product development.
- Experience designing mixed-signal electronic circuits.
- Experience creating schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer or a similar EDA tool.
- Understanding of processor-based embedded systems.
- Familiarity with hardware components used in Linux-based platforms, such as processors, DDR memory, Flash memory, and communication interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment including: oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, Ability to analyze and debug electronic circuits.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Embedded Linux hardware platforms.
- Experience with ARM-based processors and microcontrollers.
- Familiarity with DDR memory and high-speed digital interfaces.
- Experience with security products such as Intrusion Detection, Access Control, Video Surveillance, or IoT devices.
- Familiarity with EN 50131 requirements and certification processes.
- Knowledge of communication technologies such as: Ethernet, RS485.
- Understanding of EMC/EMI design considerations.
- Experience using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing teams.

Individuals may also be eligible for an annual performance bonus based on both individual and company’s performance. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as it relates to the job requirements.
