Have you ever built your own electric bike, car or 3D printer, just because you wanted to?
My client is a small, YC-backed robotics startup building an affordable, open, teachable robot for everyone. They've already shipped their first AI robot and are now taking the next one from prototype to mass-market product.
You'll:
→ Own whole subsystems: mechanical CAD, PCB layout, cable harnesses and battery management
→ Write firmware and bring up new boards in Python, C, C++ and Arduino
→ Turn fast, hacky prototypes into polished consumer hardware
→ Work hand in hand with the AI team, plus suppliers and manufacturing
You'll bring:
✅ 1 - 5 years across the full hardware stack
✅ Something physical you built from scratch (show us!)
✅ PCB design, CAD and firmware skills
✅ Real ownership of a complex project, and strong opinions of your own
A small, intense, high-ownership team, with a paid 2-day on-site trial as part of the process. Visa transfers and sponsorship available.
Fullstack Hardware Engineer - based in Palo Alto (on-site) | $165K - $200K + equity | Visa sponsorship available
