Job Description:
Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of HR and Operations to lead and build our people function as the firm continues to grow. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced professional who can design and implement scalable HR operating models, strengthen service delivery, and bring structure, governance and modern practices to a dynamic professional services business.
You will work closely with the Director to shape the people strategy, introduce efficient processes and systems, and ensure the firm has the right capability, culture and operational foundations to support its expansion in the UK and internationally. The role combines strategic people leadership with hands-on delivery and is well suited to someone with a strong background in HR shared services, operating model design or people services transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and direct the firm’s overall human resources strategy, policies and operating model.
- Design and implement scalable HR and people services processes, improving consistency, efficiency and employee experience.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment and selection for all roles, ensuring strong talent acquisition and cultural fit.
- Oversee employee relations, performance management, learning and development, and people-related compliance.
- Introduce or optimise HR systems, workflows and reporting (including digital tools and self-service where appropriate).
- Establish clear service standards, governance, SLAs and data-driven insights to support decision-making.
- Advise the Director on organisational design, resourcing, capability and people risks as the business scales.
- Drive process improvement and operational effectiveness across the firm, partnering with other functions.
- Ensure full compliance with UK employment law, GDPR and relevant professional regulations.
- Build and lead the people function, including any future team members or external providers.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a senior HR, People Services, HR Operations or Shared Services leadership role.
- Proven track record of designing or transforming HR operating models, service delivery or shared services environments.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law, HR best practice and compliance.
- Experience with HR technology, process standardisation, automation or digital enablement (Workday, ServiceNow or similar systems an advantage).
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical, hands-on delivery in a growing organisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and advisory skills — comfortable working directly with the Director.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Fluent in the Russian language — essential. You will work closely with Russian-speaking colleagues, clients and partners.
- Organised, analytical and results-oriented, with experience improving processes and service quality.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CIPD) or equivalent experience is an advantage.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £53,000.
- The opportunity to shape and build the people and operational foundations of a growing firm from a senior position.
- Direct influence with the Director and the chance to introduce modern HR practices and service delivery models.
- Work within a dynamic, international environment supporting clients through life-changing relocations.
- Flexible hybrid work model (office + remote).
- Professional development support and the opportunity to grow with the company.
Recruitment Timeline
- Applications close: 19 November 2026
- Interviews: completed by the end of November 2026
- Start date: 4 January 2027
