What you'll do Provide technical leadership and operational oversight for open-pit gypsum quarry operations across the EMEA region, with a strong focus on health & safety, environmental compliance, operational efficiency and cost optimization Support and challenge local quarry and plant teams to achieve high standards in mine planning, drilling and blasting, extraction, loading and haulage, stripping, reclamation and quarry rehabilitation Monitor and analyze operational and financial performance, including key productivity and cost indicators, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability and overall industrial performance Contribute to short-, medium- and long-term quarry development and resource planning, including reserve utilisation, quarry extensions, raw material security and the execution of major mining and infrastructure projects Coach and develop teams, while working closely with cross-functional stakeholders such as HSE, geology, engineering, procurement, finance and regional management to strengthen capabilities and promote best practices across the organization Who you are University degree in Mining Engineering, Quarrying, Mineral Resources Engineering or a comparable technical discipline; an additional postgraduate qualification in mining, geotechnics, project management or business management would be an advantage Extensive years of relevant experience in open-pit mining, quarrying or surface extraction, including a proven track record in senior technical or operational leadership roles, ideally in an international industrial or building materials environment Strong practical and technical expertise in mine planning, quarry development, extraction methods, drilling and blasting, equipment deployment, production optimisation, reserve management, geotechnical topics and quarry rehabilitation Solid commercial and operational understanding, including experience with cost control, budgeting, KPI management, CAPEX projects, quarry extensions, resource development and compliance with mining, environmental and occupational safety regulations Credible and hands-on leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent in English and German and willing to travel up to 50% across EMEA What we offer you We all shape our lives individually.
