Head of Product - Digital Health/HealthTech

Location: New York City
Working pattern: Full-time, 5 days per week in-office
Function: Product
Reports to: CEO

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Head of Product to own the company's overall product vision and strategy from New York City.

This is a senior, highly autonomous product leadership role with responsibility for a broad digital health technology ecosystem serving millions of users across clinical and consumer environments.

You will be the company's most senior product voice, responsible for shaping product strategy across the entire portfolio, leading a distributed product team, and working closely with Engineering, Growth, Design, Legal, Compliance and the executive leadership team.

This is a hands-on leadership role. Alongside setting strategy and leading the team, you will personally engage in discovery, build prototypes, test ideas and work closely with Engineering to turn problems into effective solutions.

Location & Working Environment

  • Based in New York City

  • Full-time, 5 days per week in the office

  • Product and Engineering teams are distributed across the UK and Europe

  • The role requires flexibility to work across US and European time zones

  • Candidates who already have US work authorisation are preferred, although visa sponsorship and relocation support may be available for the right individual

What You'll Do

Own the Product Vision

  • Define where the company is going from a product perspective and clearly communicate the vision across the organisation.

  • Establish a compelling product direction that enables teams to make effective decisions independently.

Set Product Strategy

  • Own product strategy across the company's entire portfolio.

  • Work across B2B and B2C, as well as clinical and consumer products.

  • Balance customer needs, commercial opportunities and company objectives when determining priorities.

Lead & Grow the Product Team

  • Manage, coach and develop Product Managers.

  • Recruit and build out the product function as the business grows.

  • Establish strong product standards, processes and ways of working.

  • Lead effectively across a distributed international team.

Remain Hands-On

  • Personally conduct product discovery.

  • Speak directly with customers and users to understand problems and opportunities.

  • Build prototypes and use them to validate ideas quickly.

  • Demonstrate ideas through tangible outputs rather than relying solely on lengthy documentation.

Partner Closely With Engineering

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering from discovery through delivery.

  • Define problems, explore solutions and develop requirements together.

  • Operate effectively within the space between Product and Engineering.

Own the US Market Product Strategy

  • Based in New York, take a leading role in understanding and developing the company's US market opportunity.

  • Understand the needs of practitioners, clinics, enterprise customers, employers and consumers.

  • Translate US market insight into product opportunities and priorities.

Influence at Executive Level

  • Define meaningful product and business success metrics.

  • Make difficult prioritisation decisions and determine what should be stopped or deprioritised.

  • Present and defend product decisions to senior stakeholders, including Growth, Legal, Compliance, the executive team and Board.

What We're Looking For

  • Approximately 5+ years of product management experience.

  • At least 2 years of genuine ownership and autonomy over a significant product area.

  • Experience operating in a discovery-led, outcome-focused product environment.

  • Proven experience managing, mentoring and/or hiring Product Managers.

  • Experience leading distributed or remote teams across multiple locations and time zones.

  • A demonstrable track record of taking products from identifying a problem through discovery, development and launch.

  • Experience working across a connected portfolio or multiple products, rather than being focused solely on one feature or product area.

  • Strong commercial and strategic judgement when prioritising across multiple products and customer groups.

  • Highly autonomous and comfortable operating with ambiguity.

  • A strong builder mentality, with a preference for creating and testing prototypes rather than relying solely on presentations or lengthy product documents.

  • Comfortable working closely with Engineering and defining requirements collaboratively.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior executives.

  • Experience or strong understanding of the US healthcare and wellness market, ideally across both B2B and B2C.

  • Experience working within a regulated environment is beneficial but not essential.

  • Comfortable using modern AI tools for product discovery, prototyping and design.

  • Curious, adaptable and motivated by solving complex problems in a rapidly changing market.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be someone who combines strategic product leadership with a hands-on builder mentality.

You should be comfortable setting the long-term product vision while also getting into the detail - speaking to customers, testing hypotheses, building prototypes and working directly with engineers.

You will need to be comfortable operating with significant autonomy, influencing senior stakeholders and making decisions in an environment where the product, market and technology are continually evolving.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $260,000-$300,000 base salary, depending on experience

  • Revenue-linked bonus opportunity

  • 401(k) with employer contribution

  • Monthly healthcare contribution

  • 20 days PTO

  • Additional New York City statutory sick leave

  • Access to the company's wellbeing platform for you and your family
