Berkeley Credit | Mayfair, London (27 Hill Street, W1J 5LP)

Type: Permanent, full-time | Office-based with broker visits across England & Wales

Package: Base + uncapped commission on completions + benefits

Reports to: Director

Lead sales at a direct, principal bridging lender in Mayfair.

Berkeley Credit is a direct, principal bridging lender based in Mayfair. We lend capital, from £50,000 to £25,000,000, against residential, commercial and mixed-use property across England and Wales, for business and investment purposes. Our rates start at 0.79% per month, with terms of 3 to 24 months, first or second charge.

Brokers come to us because we make our own decisions. We give a same-day decision in principle, and the terms we quote on day one are the terms that complete: no committee surprises and no re-trading. We welcome complex cases, including offshore and expat borrowers, company, trust and partnership structures, and cases declined elsewhere.

We are now hiring a Head of Sales to take ownership of origination, build our intermediary franchise and lead our business development team through the next stage of growth.

The Role

This is a senior, player-manager role. You will bring in your own deals and also set the sales strategy for the business. You will work directly with the directors and our credit team, with real influence over pricing, product and how we go to market. There are no layers of management between you and the decision.

What you'll do

• Own the sales strategy and origination targets for the business, and personally originate and convert high-quality bridging opportunities

• Lead, coach and grow the business development team, setting clear activity, pipeline and completion KPIs

• Build and deepen relationships with brokers, packagers, networks, mortgage clubs, private banks, wealth managers and introducers, with a focus on London, the South East and key regional markets

• Win and manage key accounts, and open new intermediary channels and distribution partnerships

• Work closely with underwriting and credit to structure workable cases quickly and keep deals moving to completion

• Feed market and competitor insight back into product, pricing and criteria

• Represent Berkeley Credit at industry events, NACFB/FIBA and trade-body activity, and in the trade press

• Report on pipeline, conversion and lending volumes to the directors

About you

• 5+ years' business development or sales experience at a bridging, specialist property or non-bank lender, with recent experience at senior BDM, head of sales or sales director level

• An established, active network of brokers and introducers who place unregulated bridging, particularly in and around the M25

• A proven record of hitting and exceeding completion targets

• Experience leading, mentoring or building a sales team, or ready to step up into a first full leadership role

• A strong commercial understanding of bridging credit: valuation, exit strategy, LTV, complex ownership and second charges

• Entrepreneurial, self-starting and comfortable in a small, fast-moving business where your impact is visible

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a reputation for integrity in the market

Why Berkeley Credit

• A direct principal lender using its own capital, so you can promise brokers speed and certainty and deliver it

• A senior seat at the table in a growing business, with direct access to decision-makers

• A competitive base salary plus uncapped commission on completed lending

• A broad product set to sell: residential, commercial and mixed-use bridging, auction finance, refurbishment finance, second-charge bridging and re-bridging

• Offices at 27 Hill Street, Mayfair
