About Your New Job

As Head of Technical, you will:

• Lead a team of over 20 professionals across Quality Assurance, Technical Services, Specifications and Hygiene, supporting their development through coaching and training.
• Drive the company’s quality strategy and oversee its Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
• Act as HACCP Team Leader and Management Representative for BRCGS and customer standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Lead customer, regulatory and certification audits, oversee the internal audit programme and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Manage supplier approval, customer complaints and non-conforming products, ensuring thorough investigations and effective preventative actions.
• Oversee site hygiene, product testing and equipment calibration programmes, working closely with production and engineering teams.
• Build strong relationships with customers, auditors and regulators while promoting a positive food safety culture throughout the organisation.

What Skills You Need

• At least 10 years’ experience in technical roles, including a minimum of five years in senior leadership.
• A degree in a scientific discipline.
• Proven experience managing high-risk food manufacturing environments.
• A strong background working with major retailers.
• Experience overseeing operations across multiple sites.
• Expertise in Listeria control and management.
• Current authorisation to work in the Republic of Ireland and the ability to commute to Bantry or relocate before starting.
