The Role

As a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will work closely with Registered Nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide safe, person-centred care to patients. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • You will be based at Stobhill Hospital
  • Working Pattern: Mon-Sun day & night shift rotation 11.5 hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
  • Support patients with personal care and activities of daily living, promoting dignity and independence
  • Assist nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the delivery of safe and effective care
  • Observe and report changes in patients' physical and emotional wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective communication with the wider care team
  • Adhere to infection prevention, health and safety and local procedural requirements
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Previous experience in a caring role or healthcare environment
  • A caring, compassionate and patient-focused approach to care delivery
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively within a busy clinical environment
  • Commitment to ongoing learning, development and completion of required competency programmes
  • Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
