Our success is a testament to our remarkable team and what we’re building together. We’re committed to providing employees with a meaningful work experience and have established an award-winning culture that supports personal and career development in a fun, casual, and collaborative environment.
Who We Want
As our Heavy Haul Solutions Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the growth of Arrive’s Open Deck division by solving complex transportation puzzles with precision and speed. We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented flatbed and specialized freight professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at turning complex freight specifications into accurate, competitive, and profitable rates. In this role, you will build immediate credibility across sales, operations, and external carrier partners by evaluating multi-axle configurations, route restrictions, and permitting requirements. Your ability to navigate the nuances of heavy haul logistics while mitigating compliance risks will directly empower our commercial teams to win and retain high-value specialized business.
What You'll Do
Build accurate, competitive, and profitable rate quotes for over dimensional/overweight (OS/OW) and heavy haul freight across step decks, RGNs, lowboys, multi-axle setups, and specialized trailers.
Analyze complex load dimensions, weights, axle configurations, and engineering drawings to select the correct equipment and verify route feasibility.
Calculate and price all variable cost drivers into spot quotes and RFPs, including state-by-state permits, pilot/escort cars, police details, route surveys, superload fees, and travel-time restrictions.
Source competitive market rates and partner with carrier procurement teams to expand and maintain an elite network of qualified specialized heavy haul carriers.
Respond promptly to incoming spot quote requests and RFPs within target turnaround windows, strategically balancing quote win rates with profitability thresholds.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Account Management, and Carrier Sales teams to establish clear customer expectations regarding transit times, equipment availability, cost drivers, and operational lead times.
Track and evaluate quote performance, lane dynamics, and accessorial cost trends to continuously refine pricing models, benchmarks, and quoting guidelines.
Proactively identify and flag regulatory compliance, safety, and cargo claims risks prior to load booking and dispatch.
Leverage proprietary pricing tools, rate benchmarking platforms (such as DAT and Greenscreens), and TMS software to streamline workflows and drive data-backed pricing decisions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
2+ years of experience pricing, brokering, or dispatching heavy haul, over dimensional/overweight (OS/OW), or specialized flatbed/open deck freight within a 3PL or freight brokerage environment.
Deep working knowledge of federal and state Department of Transportation (DOT) permitting rules, legal axle weight limits, escort/pilot car regulations, and specialized routing restrictions.
Proven ability to interpret technical load specifications and BOLs to make rapid equipment and pricing decisions.
Advanced analytical and mathematical proficiency, with strong Microsoft Excel skills for building and auditing cost-plus rate models.
Experience with specialized market intelligence and pricing tools (e.g., DAT, Truckstop, Greenscreens) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
Familiarity with heavy haul industry sectors (e.g., construction, energy, renewables/wind, agriculture, or industrial machinery) and cross-border specialized moves is a plus.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive priorities in a high-urgency setting.
