A Senior Data Center Technician is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing the operational integrity and performance of data center infrastructure. This role involves advanced troubleshooting, technical leadership in complex hardware and network installations, coordination of change control activities, and mentorship of junior staff. The Senior Technician plays a critical role in maintaining uptime, optimization system performance, and ensuring compliance with security and safety protocols. The position requires strong technical expertise, initiative, and the ability to work independently in high-pressure environments. This opportunity will have a rotational schedule with a premium rate. Expert-level knowledge of server and network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Dell, SMC, Cisco, HP, Juniper), with hands-on experience replacing components. Advanced understanding of data center infrastructure, including structured cabling, PDUs, CRAC units, and UPS systems. Experience with liquid-to-chip cooling systems including CDUs and RDHx units is strongly preferred. High level of proficiency with fiber testing equipment (OTDR), cleaning fiber termination points, patching, media converters, and optical receivers. Proficiency with asset management, monitoring platforms, and remote hands tools. Familiarity with virtualization platforms, cloud infrastructure, and scripting or automation tools. Strong documentation, project coordination, and a customer-first mindset are important. Industry certifications are strongly preferred (e.g., Cisco CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Server+/Network+, and BICSI TECH certification). Other important requirements: Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies. Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied. Must participate in a 24/7 on call rotation. Must be able to reliably commute to the site in Childress, Texas or have plans to relocate before starting work. Must be able to lift up to 49 lbs. The Senior Data Center Technician will focus on the following as well as other job-related duties and/or projects as assigned. Lead the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of GPU servers, compute nodes, storage arrays, and network hardware in a liquid-to-chip data center environment. Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis for high-impact hardware and connectivity issues. Coordinate infrastructure changes, migrations, and upgrades across multi-site or large-scale environments. Monitor and analyse power, cooling, and environmental systems; escalate and resolve complex facility-related issues. Ensure data center best practices are followed in areas such as cable management, access control, and documentation. Maintain and improve operational processes; identify opportunities for automation or workflow optimization. Serve as a primary escalation point and mentor for junior and mid-level technicians. Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to plan and implement technical solutions. Build and manage relationships with upstream partners and vendors to effectively manage tasks such as vendor ticket & requests and warranty work. Quickly resolves high-impact issues with minimal supervision. Ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency through strong documentation execution. Anticipates system needs, proposes improvements, and supports long-term infrastructure planning. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
