Requirements Education, Training or Certifications Required: Current Maine license as a registered professional nurse. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS. Critical Care/Code Blue Course.4 TNCC, CCRN, NALS encouraged. Critical Care Course can be 1:1 with Division Director during orientation. Experience Required: Recent training/experience in medication administration and nursing process in an acute care setting. Recent critical care experience and CC course preferred prior to application. Special Requirements: Familiarity with IS computer system and Monitoring System. Familiarity with CCS specific equipment and medications. ALS procedures and policies. Cognitive Requirements: Emotional maturity and good people skills required. Able to take in, process and apply clinical information in a wide variety of patient care situations. Ability for high performance under stressful situations. Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through. Physical Demands: Able to sit, stand and walk for an 8-12 hour shift. Adequate hearing, vision, speech and manual dexterity. General health must be such as to regularly work scheduled hours. Able to lift and carry 25-50 pounds (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.). Environment: Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids. Potential for exposure to contagious diseases. Potential for periods of high stress.
