Contract: Full time, Permanent

Team: Fragomen International Internship Scheme Team

Office Location: 7th Floor, Saville House, 74-90 Savile Street, Sheffield S4 7UD, United Kingdom

The role:

The Immigration Consultant role will be predominantly working within the Fragomen International Internship Scheme team with exposure to some of the firms most prestigious clients across a variety of industries. As the only law firm in the country with the ability to provide sponsorship to interns, this is a unique opportunity to be part of a niche team that will help build your skillset.


You will be predominantly engaged in transactional work, supporting with preparing and submitting TW GAE visa applications. You will have the support of the senior members of the team as well as administrative support for your day-to-day workload. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in business development activities and be involved in wider Firm initiatives (including government liaison and pro bono work.)

The team sits within the wider ‘Compliance’ team at Fragomen therefore at times you will also be working within Fragomen's Education team. This will involve working with some of the most prestigious schools and Universities in the country to provide Student visa support. There will also be opportunities to support the firm’s Compliance team.

As well as having exposure to the Temporary Work (Government Authorised Exchange), Student visa route and Compliance, there will also be opportunities to be involved with other UK immigration visa types.

What your day will look like:

  • Responsibility for managing your own caseload under Associate supervision

  • Effectively utilise Fragomen's case management system

  • Provide regular updates to clients on the progress of their applications

  • Manage case billing in a timely and accurate manner

  • Work collaboratively with the team to proactively manage and respond to client queries

  • Review and assess new client enquiries and proposed internship programmes

  • Support the management of the team inbox and review new enquiries

  • Support compliance monitoring activities, including the preparation of client reports and communications

  • Research and interpret UK immigration legislation, guidance, and policy changes to support casework and client queries

  • Assist with the maintenance and development of templates and Scheme materials

  • Contribute to business development initiatives, supporting the growth of existing client relationships and new business opportunities

  • Able to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, particularly during peak periods

Preferred skills:

  • Previous immigration casework experience

  • Experience using case management systems

  • Knowledge of UK immigration processes and procedures

  • Strong client service skills

  • Excellent written communication skills

  • Experience managing a high-volume workload

  • Interest in business development and wider firm initiatives
