Primary Location Burnet Campus Department Financial Clearance Center Shift Day (United States of America) Schedule Full time Weekly Hours 40 FTE 1 Employee Status Regular *Expected Starting Pay Range $53,705.60 - $67,142.40 *Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status. Cincinnati Children's is seeking an International Specialist I to support international patients and families as they prepare for care, travel to Cincinnati, navigate services during their stay, and transition home. This role coordinates across clinical teams, financial clearance, guest services, interpreter services, families, international payors, and partner organizations to help ensure timely , organized, and compassionate support. What You Will Do Serve as a point of contact for international patient care inquiries and family questions throughout the care journey. Gather, organize, and route medical records to support referrals, treatment planning, approvals, and travel coordination. Coordinate appointments and support timely services while being sensitive to family travel needs. Compose visa-support documentation after satisfactory financial arrangements are in place. Coordinate with Guest Services to support accommodation and transportation needs. Help arrange interpreter services as needed and maintain compliance with HIPAA privacy requirements when working with third parties. Work with clinical, financial, embassy, ministry, payor, and partner contacts to support international care coordination. Support family orientation, ongoing triage, documentation requests, medication or appointment questions, and transition needs when families return home. What Will Help You Be Successful Strong organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced, case-based environment. Clear, warm, and professional communication with families, clinical teams, and external partners. Ability to balance multiple time-sensitive cases while keeping patient and family needs clear. Empathy and composure when supporting families through stressful situations, including difficult care circumstances. Comfort coordinating across multiple teams and following defined procedures while escalating important issues appropriately. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field. 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline. Preferred Qualifications Arabic language proficiency is highly preferred based on current patient and family support needs; final posting language should be confirmed before launch. Additional language proficiency may be helpful, particularly languages commonly used by international families served by the program. Experience coordinating patient services, international services, healthcare access, travel logistics , financial clearance, case management, or complex client/family support. Exposure to Epic or similar healthcare documentation systems is helpful but not listed as a hard requirement in the approved profile. Work Environment Entry-level professional role using defined procedures with guidance from more senior roles. Fast-paced international patient coordination environment with sensitive, time-bound case details. Includes cross-functional coordination with clinical teams, financial services, guest services, interpreter services, partner institutions, and international payors .
