Show job description

Our client, a leading global investment management firm, is looking to appoint a Junior Investment Grade Credit Analyst to join its established fixed income team in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career credit professional to develop their investment research capabilities within an experienced team, gaining exposure to a broad range of global corporate bond issuers and investment grade credit markets.

The successful candidate will contribute to fundamental credit research, financial analysis and ongoing portfolio monitoring, working closely with senior members of the investment team to develop investment views and identify opportunities across corporate credit markets.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fundamental credit analysis across global corporate bond issuers.
  • Analyse financial statements, business models, capital structures and key credit metrics.
  • Assist with financial modelling, forecasting and credit valuation.
  • Monitor existing holdings and assess changes in issuer fundamentals.
  • Contribute to the identification of credit risks and relative value opportunities.
  • Prepare research reports and communicate findings to the wider investment team.
  • Develop sector and issuer knowledge across investment grade corporate credit markets.

Requirements

  • Approximately 1–3 years of relevant experience in credit research or analysis.
  • Candidates from asset management, investment banking or credit ratings agencies will be considered.
  • Exposure to corporate credit, ideally within investment grade markets.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting and corporate fundamentals.
  • Excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
  • Strong academic background and demonstrable intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Location & Flexibility

The position is ideally based in Edinburgh, although candidates based elsewhere in the UK or Europe who are willing to relocate will be considered. Visa sponsorship is available where required.

Candidates currently based in London will also be considered, provided they can commit to a minimum of two days per week in Edinburgh. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered by the firm.
